# Change a listing's price

> Reprice one of your fixed-price listings in place, without delisting it.

Scope: `write:listings` · MCP tool: `update_listing_price`

Changes the price of one of your active fixed-price listings. The listing keeps its `listing_id`, and the new price lands whole or not at all. The limits are the same as for [List a card](https://catchbackcards.mintlify.site/partner-api/endpoints/list-card.md): at least $5, and at most the larger of $5 and 2× the card's market value, with no upper cap when the card has no market value. The price is rounded to the cent.

Changing a price runs the same seller checks as listing a card. Sending the price a listing already has writes nothing and answers `200`, as long as that price is still within the limits: if the card's market value has dropped since, the cap may have dropped below it.

**listing\_id** `string` *required*

The listing, from [Your listings](https://catchbackcards.mintlify.site/partner-api/endpoints/get-listings.md) or a listed card in [Get vault](https://catchbackcards.mintlify.site/partner-api/endpoints/get-vault.md). A UUID.

**price** `number` *required*

The new asking price in USD, more than 0. A card worth $40 can be listed from $5 to \$80.

The card's catalog.

**price** `number`

The new price, rounded to the cent.

**previous\_price** `number`

The price before this change.

**seller\_fee** `number`

What a sale takes from your payout: \$1.

**payout** `number`

What your balance is credited if it sells: `price` − `seller_fee`.

**updated\_at** `string`

When the listing last changed.

## Errors

| Status | Code | When |
| - | - | - |
| `400` | | The listing id isn't a UUID, or `price` isn't a positive number |
| `400` | `PRICE_BELOW_MINIMUM` | Under \$5. The body has `min_price` and `max_price` (`null` when the card has no market value, so no cap) |
| `400` | `PRICE_ABOVE_MAXIMUM` | Over the larger of \$5 and 2× market value. The body has `min_price` and `max_price` |
| `400` | `NOT_FIXED_PRICE` | The listing is a Dutch auction, whose price follows its schedule |
| `403` | | The key lacks `write:listings` or isn't linked to an account, the account needs a verified phone number (`"Phone verification required"`), or it can't list cards |
| `403` | `FEATURE_RESTRICTED` | The marketplace is switched off for your account (`capability: "marketplace"`). Contact us |
| `404` | `LISTING_NOT_FOUND` | No listing with this id belongs to your account |
| `409` | `LISTING_NOT_ACTIVE` | The listing sold, was taken down or expired, or its card left your account, including a buy or a delist that landed while you were changing the price. An active listing whose `category` is `null` (see [Your listings](https://catchbackcards.mintlify.site/partner-api/endpoints/get-listings.md)) gets it too. Once the listing has closed, the body has its `status`. Nothing was written |
| `409` | `LISTING_CHANGED` | Another change to the listing, in practice another price change, landed first, and the listing is still active. Nothing was written. Read it again and retry |
| `503` | | We couldn't read your account just then. Nothing was written. Retry shortly |
| `500` | | A database error. Send the same price again: that finishes the change, or writes nothing if it had already landed |
